REVIEW: THE SOLOIST

08/02/09

OVERVIEW:
THE SOLOIST debuting August 4,
2009 on DVD from Paramount Home Entertainment. Based on the
best-selling book by Los Angeles Times journalist Steve
Lopez, THE SOLOIST is a moving and emotional story of the
transformative power of friendship. When Lopez (Oscar®
nominee Robert Downey Jr.) discovers former classical music
prodigy Nathaniel Anthony Ayers (Oscar winner Jamie Foxx)
playing his violin on the streets of L.A., he endeavors to
help the troubled genius find his way back. The unique bond
that forms between them makes for a poignant and soaring
tale that is “powerful and inspiring” (Shawn Edwards, Fox
Television).
SYNOPSIS: Academy
Award® nominee Robert Downey Jr. and Academy Award® winner
Jamie Foxx star in an extraordinary and inspiring true story
of how a chance meeting can change a life. The Soloist tells
the poignant and ultimately soaring tale of a Los Angeles
newspaper reporter who discovers a brilliant and distracted
street musician, with unsinkable passion, and the unique
friendship and bond that transforms both their lives.
DVD: The Soloist is presented in
a widescreen format with a 2.40:1 aspect ration,
preserving its original theatrical released format. The
