REVIEW: Trapped Ashes

Directed by five of
Hollywood’s most unique filmmakers, Trapped Ashes features
four stories of the surreal, erotic and terrifying. Seven
strangers are trapped inside the infamous “House of Horror”
during a Hollywood movie studio tour and forced to tell
their most terrifying personal stories to get out alive. The
stories include “The Girl With Golden Breasts” directed by
Ken Russell (Altered States), “Jibaku” (Evil Spirit)
directed by Sean Cunningham (Friday the 13th), “Stanley’s
Girlfriend” directed by Monte Hellman (Cockfighter), and “My
Twin, The Worm” directed by John Gaeta (Academy Award®
winner, Visual Effects for The Matrix). Additionally, the
wraparound story was directed by Joe Dante (Gremlins),
multi-Academy Award®-winner Robert Skotak (Terminator 2:
Judgement Day) served as Visual F/X Supervisor on the film
and acclaimed Japanese composer Kenji Kawai (The Ring)
created the soundtrack. All stories were written by Dennis
Bartok.
Trapped Ashes was an Official Selection of the 2006 Toronto
International Film Festival, 2006 Cannes Film Festival
(“Stanley’s Girlfriend” Episode), 2007 Dublin International
Film Festival, 2007 Philadelphia Film Festival and 2007
Fantasia.
