REVIEW: TRICK'R TREAT

OVERVIEW: Prepare to scream and laugh this October 6th as Michael Dougherty’s Trick ‘r Treat arrives on Blu-ray and DVD in time for Halloween.
From producer Bryan Singer (The Usual Suspects, Valkyrie, Superman Returns) and writer/director Michael Dougherty (Superman Returns, X2), Trick r Treat is a creepy, darkly comic celebration of the scariest night of the year: Halloween. The film’s ensemble cast includes Academy Award winner Anna Paquin (The Piano, HBO’s True Blood), Brian Cox (The Bourne Identity, X2), Leslie Bibb (Iron Man, Talladega Nights), Dylan Baker (Spiderman 2, Spiderman 3) and Tahmoh Penikett (Battlestar Galactica [TV Show]).
In the tradition of Creepshow and Tales from the Crypt comes five interwoven tales set on Halloween night: a suburban couple learns the consequences of blowing out a jack-o-lantern before midnight, a high school principal moonlights as a vicious serial killer, a young virgin whose quest for that someone special takes a gruesome turn, a group of teens carry out a cruel prank with disastrous consequences, and a cantankerous old man battles a mischievous trick-or-treating demon.
SYNOPSIS:
A creepy, darkly comic celebration of the scariest night of the year from producer BRYAN SINGER (director of X-Men and Superman Returns) and writer-director MICHAEL DOUGHERTY(co-scripter of X2 and Superman Returns). Trick ?R Treat takes the Creepshow/Tales from the Crypt approach to nefarious new depths with four interwoven tales set on Halloween night: a high school principal (DYLAN BAKER) moonlights as a vicious serial killer; the quest of a young virgin (ANNA PAQUIN) for that special someone takes a gruesome turn; a group of teens carries out a cruel prank with disastrous consequences; and a cantankerous old man (BRIAN COX) battles a mischievous trick-or-treating demon.

In terms of special features
the DVD doesn't include anything to get exited. It only a short
animated with optional commentary by Director Michael Dougherty.
Overall the film
manage to give a few scares and laughs. The stories are
interesting and entertaining keeping engaged for the full length
of the film. I enjoyed the film. I can't say
that it is one of the best Halloween movies I have seen, but it was good enough to get e
passing grade. This film is well worth at least a rental.
