REVIEW: UFC Classics

03/08/09

The next two
classic installments from the Ultimate Fighting Championship
come to DVD March 10, 2009. UFC 11: The Proving Ground and
UFC 12: Judgment Day bring fans ringside to the original
battles – before there were rules. The DVDs feature the
original warriors and masters in the skills of boxing,
jiu-jitsu, karate and tae kwon do, including Mark Coleman,
Dan Severn, Nick Sanzo, Brian Johnston, Jerry Bohlander,
Tank Abbott, and Scott Ferrozzo, who battle it out to the
bloody end.
This event features the return of UFC bad boy David “Tank”
Abbott, back from a 7-month disciplinary suspension. If he
makes the finals, he looks to face the UFC’s hottest new
star Mark “The Hammer” Coleman. A former U.S. Olympic Team
wrestler, Coleman is undefeated and returning UFC X
champion. Also on the card, Brian Johnston, a menacing kick
boxer and Judo black belt, tackles Iran’s Reza Nasri (Greco
Roman Wrestling), and Lion’s Den sensation Jerry Bohlander
matches his submission hold skills with Fabio Gurgel
(Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu). UFC 11: The Proving Ground provides
plenty of surprises and bare-knuckled fury as the Octagon
becomes the Proving Ground, separating the best from the
rest.
