UGLY BETTY (Season
3)

09/17/09

OVERVIEW: Sporting cherry red spectacles and bright blue braces, sunny Betty
Suarez turns the fashion world on its ear in “Ugly Betty: The Complete Third Season” on DVD on
September 22, 2009 from Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment. This six-disc set contains every
episode from the hit show’s spectacular third season, as well as deleted scenes, bloopers and
entertaining features that go behind the scenes of television’s cheerful skewering of high-fashion
magazine publishing.
SYNOPSIS: There are underdogs and then there’s Betty Suarez. In the snooty world of high fashion, Betty is the
ultimate “fish-out-of-water.” Her efforts to fit in with her colleagues at a glossy magazine may bring
unintentionally hysterical results, but they also have audiences rooting for their favorite fashionista. In
Season Three, Betty’s success shocks her co-workers at Mode—she’s leaving the old neighborhood in
Queens for a Manhattan apartment and a slot at YETI (the prestigious Young Editors Training Institute).
But it wouldn’t be Betty without some hilarious setbacks along the way!
SEASON REVIEW: The 2009/2010 Fall Television season is just around the corner, and to be prepare for the upcoming season. Home Entertainment Companies are starting to release last year's best TV series on DVD. One of the titles that is being release on September 22, 2009 by Buena Vista Home Entertainment, is ABC's hit comedy Ugly Betty. Show that continued with its good ratings and captivated television viewers around the country, for its refreshing comedy and it down to earth situations. With the theme of Start Spreding the News. Buena Vista Home Entertainment is setting the grounds for the upcoming premier of the fourth season on September 25, 2008.
The third season was a big challenge for Ugly Betty, however the show was able to maintain the hype created after a successfull previous seasons. In its third year Ugly Betty saw the show moved to New York, which I found to be a plus. Also the series saw the integration of several new characters. Grant Bowler, Mark Consuelos, Heather Tom, Val Emmich, Ralph Macchio, Sarah Lafleur, Bernadette Peters, Lauren Velez and Daniel Eric Gold are just some of star that join the cast of the show, expanding the story a little more by creating fresh situations, but it is Betty's cision to move out of her house into ther on apartment and her focus in her new publishing career. which takes a new turn in this season. The highlight of this season was Ignacio's heart attack and his new girlfriend nurse Elena In the meantime the diabolic Wilhelmina (Vanessa Williams) falls in love with new associate Connor Owens.
Overall Ugly Betty continues to set strong grounds in its third season providing the most exquisite humorous situations that made the series a hit for the third year in a row and set the grounds for an upcoming fourth season. It seems that Betty Suarez is here to stay. The DVD packaging is very similar to the season two release and includes 6 disc including all
24 episodes. The special features are less in this release, with the longest being "Coming Home to New York City", which is a behind the scenes of the show moving to New York. The other three features deleted scenes, bloopers and an episode commentary with Besties Michael and Becki
