REVIEW: WEDDING DAZE
01/06/08
SYNOPSIS: Starring
Jason Biggs (American Pie) and Isla Fisher (Wedding
Crashers), Wedding Daze is funnyman Michael Ian Black’s
(Reno 911!: Miami) feature film directorial debut.? This
hilarious edgy comedy follows Anderson (Biggs) who makes an
impromptu proposal to a neurotic coffee shop waitress named
Katie (Fisher) after suddenly losing “the perfect
girlfriend.”
FILM REVIEW: Once in a while you find a film that for
some reason or another doesn't get the opportunity for a
theatrically run in the United States and it is surprising
to find that the film is not bad, sometimes it is even
better than made for the theaters. This is what happen to the
2006 movie "Wedding Daze" . Originally called "The
Pleasure of Your Company" starring Jason Biggs and Isla
Fisher. Fortunately, the film sees the light with its DVD
release in the USA on
January 15, 2008.
If we were to compare this
film to Jason Biggs' previous films, we can say that this
film plays like "Saving Silverman" with a touch of "American
Pie". Just like in all of his films Jason plays the lovable
goofy character looking for his better half. Isla Fisher
brings back a similar wacko character to the one in the
"Wedding Crashers", but is the chemistry between Jason Biggs
and Isla Fisher that takes this movie to the next level.
Michael Ian Black's mistake in this film was
probably making his characters so similar to those from
"American Pie" and " Wedding Crashers". However this film
still manages to get a few hard laughs out and kept me
entertained for 91 minutes.
The Wedding Daze's DVD release is presented
on a flipper disc featuring both widescreen (1.85:1 aspect
ration) and full screen versions of the film. The bonus
features in this DVD are worthless, yet it is normal in this
