Here is the trailer from the upcoming film “HOMEMAKERS”. The film is directed by Colin Healey, starring Rachel McKeon, Jack Culbertson, Molly Carlisle.
Making its NYC premiere at Brooklyn’s Northside Festival, HOMEMAKERS is the story of part-time Austin punk rocker — and full-time harbinger of chaos and destruction — Irene McCabey. She arrives in Pittsburgh to claim her inheritance: a crumbling, abandoned three-story row house built by her great-grandfather. With the help of a drinking buddy who happens to be her long lost cousin, Irene attempts a boozy restoration project and discovers in the forgotten home a hidden urge to settle down—but when shit gets shitty, Irene’s newfound domesticity may not be strong enough to subdue the rampaging child within. At the film’s center is a searing, multi-layered performance by Rachel McKeon as Irene.
HOMEMAKERS recalls the punk girl oeuvre of LADIES AND GENTLEMAN THE FABULOUS STAINS and the Gen-Y self-discovery of FRANCES HA, but is unique unto itself with its irreverence, humor, and particularly kick-ass female protagonist.
Winner of the Audience Award at the Boston International Film Festival.
