Michelle Mower of Urban Cowgirl Productions, a film production company in Houston, is pleased to announce that principal photography for the drama A WOMAN BETRAYED will begin Sunday, April 21st. Mower, who is celebrating the success of her Lifetime Movie Network (LMN) film, THE PREACHER’S DAUGHTER, is a writer, director, and producer (along with Michael Darling of Triple Cross Productions) on this new release. A WOMAN BETRAYED stars Sarah Lancaster (“Chuck”), Natalia Cigliuti (“The Glades”) and Drew Waters (“Friday Night Lights”) and will be released nationwide by Reel One Entertainment. The crew is shooting on locations in the greater Houston area including Discovery Green, Hotel Icon, Pearland, Allen Parkway, and the Museum District.

“I am excited that the entire production of A WOMAN BETRAYED will take place in and around Houston,” stated Mower. “We are the fourth largest city in the country and I really want to show the beauty and scope of our city as a great place to not only live but to also make movies.”

Based on an original screenplay written by Mower and Kevin Dean, A WOMAN BETRAYED is the thrilling story of “Gwen Griffith,” a single mom who, in the pursuit of love, finds herself unwittingly embroiled in a murder plot. Main casting features Sarah Lancaster, known for roles in TV programs such as “Chuck,” “What About Brian,” “Dr. Vegas,” and “Everwood,” as the lead, “Gwen Griffith;” Natalie Cigliuti as her best friend “Sidney,” (previous credits include roles on “The Glades,” “GI Joe: Renegades,” “Raising The Bar,” and “All My Children”); and Drew Waters of “Friday Night Lights” fame as “Ed,” a man who seems to be perfect for “Gwen” – he is handsome, successful and loves kids – until she finds out he’s not who he claims.

No stranger to utilizing all that Houston and the surrounding cities have to offer, Mower’s debut feature film THE PREACHER’S DAUGHTER, which aired on LMN in August 2012, featured footage from Alvin’s Stanton’s Market, Texas Preparatory Academy School, and the police department. The movie was the highest rated film on the LMN network in 2012 and is currently available for rent in Redbox kiosks, can be purchased on Amazon, and seen on VOD.
