June Pictures and Gettin’ Rad Productions announced today that Voltage Pictures will handle international and WME Global will handle North American rights to their ensemble comedy, FUN MOM DINNER, starting this week at the Toronto International Film Festival. The deal was brokered by Jonathan Deckter and Christian Eimer of Voltage Pictures with Glen Mastroberte of Latham & Watkins and WME Global.
In FUN MOM DINNER four moms, whose only common ground is their kids’ preschool class, decide to get together for a harmless “fun mom dinner.” When the night suddenly takes an unexpected turn and things gets real, these unlikely new friends soon realize they have more in common than just marriage and motherhood.
The feature film, written by Julie Yaeger Rudd, marks the directorial debut of Alethea Jones and stars Katie Aselton (“Casual,” “Togetherness”), Toni Collette (“Lucky Them,” “Miss You Already”), Bridget Everett (““Lady Dynamite,” “Trainwreck”), and Molly Shannon (Forthcoming HBO series “Divorce,” “We Don’t Belong Here,” “Other People”). Other cast members include Adam Scott (“The Overnight,” “Parks and Recreation,” “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty”), Adam Levine (“Begin Again”), Rob Huebel (“Transparent,” “The Descendants”), and Paul Rust (“Love,” “Comedy Bang! Bang!”). June Pictures’ partners Andrew Duncan and Alex Saks and Gettin’ Rad’s Naomi Scott are producers, and Paul Rudd and Adam Scott are executive producers.
President and COO of Voltage Picutres Jonathan Deckter said, “We are very excited to work on our first project with the incredibly talented creative team that June Pictures and Gettin’ Rad have assembled. I am sure that the universal themes of friendship, parenting and most of all, every Mom needing a night out, will translate the world over.”
FUN MOM DINNER wrapped production in Los Angeles in July 2016.
