Little Shop of Horrors Celebrates 40th Anniversary with 4K HDR Release

To mark the film’s 40th anniversary, Little Shop of Horrors, directed by Frank Oz, will be released for the first time in 4K Ultra HD with HDR on October 6, 2026. The newly remastered edition will be available on 4K Ultra HD Blu‑ray™ and Digital, featuring both the Theatrical Cut and Director’s Cut, along with new retrospective bonus content.

Adapted from the off‑Broadway musical by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman, the film stars Rick Moranis, Ellen Greene, Vincent Gardenia, and Steve Martin, with supporting appearances from Tisha Campbell, Tichina Arnold, Michelle Weeks, Jim Belushi, John Candy, Christopher Guest, and Bill Murray. The film received Academy Award nominations for Best Original Song and Best Visual Effects at the 59th Academy Awards.

The 4K Ultra HD Blu‑ray will be available online and in‑store at major retailers, and the Digital release will be offered through platforms including Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, Google Play, Fandango, and others.

A comedy, a love story, and a cult classic centered on a giant singing plant from outer space, Little Shop of Horrors follows Seymour, an orphan working in a struggling flower shop on Skid Row. While dreaming of a future with his co‑worker Audrey, Seymour discovers a mysterious plant shortly after a solar eclipse. The unusual plant draws customers, saves the shop from bankruptcy, and elevates Seymour’s status—until its appetite grows beyond control, placing Audrey and the entire neighborhood at risk.
