Loser: Friday July 21, 2000

Nerdy, good-natured Paul Tannek (American Pie's Jason Biggs) is a square peg in the round hole that is New York University-his pot-smoking, girl-chasing roommates hate him, and everyone else on campus ignores him. But when he meets fellow student Dora Diamond (Mena Suvari, American Beauty), he discovers a kindred spirit. Dora is practically broke, has nowhere to live, and her boyfriend, Professor Edward Alcott (Oscar® nominee Greg Kinnear), is more interested in manipulating her than loving her.
The more people push them around, the closer Paul and Dora get-she helps him dress better and appreciate New York, he lets her stay with him while she finds a job. In the end, Paul and Dora not only fall for each other, they find the courage to walk away from the people who walk all over them-proof that even losers get lucky sometimes. -- © 2000 Columbia Pictures

I thought this movie was tops! I saw it only days after seeing Road Trip and just assumed it would be in the same boat....I was pleasently surprised. Sure it was lighthearted and a bit silly but if you want deep and meaningful read a book!

Yeah, go see it on video...its a predictable corny date movie, but there are moments that will make you laugh (in that date-esque way)...spare the theatre, cause there are better movies to see

Worth paying matinee...go see it with a girlfriend.  Definately not a date movie.  My advice is to sneak in to see it actually...or rent it cause you wont be missing a lot but if you see it you wont be upset you spent your movie. Middle of the road and very predictable but pleasant to watch

Yes, I am a loser.  And anyone who would go see this movie is also. I've seen all the teen movie flicks (yeah, I'm a fan) and this is terrible. This is no Clueless, no She's All That, and not even 10 Things I Hate About You. Maybe I'm just plain sick of all the same type of teen movies, you know some outcast ends up hooking up with some popular person.  This is just a little different.  The two people are both outcasts and hook up with each other. Ooops, did I give the end of the movie away?  Please, they all end up that way.
