One of the most powerful and heart-wrenching films of the year, Mother and Child comes to Blu-ray™ and DVD December 14 from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. The critically-acclaimed drama from writer/director Rodrigo García (Nine Lives, TV’s “Big Love,” “In Treatment”) stars Academy Award® nominees Annette Bening (2005, Best Actress, Being Julia) and Naomi Watts (2004, Best Actress, 21 Grams), Kerry Washington (Lakeview Terrace, Miracle at St. Anna), Jimmy Smits (TV’s “Outlaw,” “The West Wing,” “NYPD: Blue”) and Academy Award nominee Samuel L. Jackson (1995, Best Supporting Actor, Pulp Fiction). Released earlier this year from Sony Pictures Classics, Mother and Child chronicles the compelling stories of three women – a 50 year-old woman (Bening), the daughter she gave up for adoption 35 years earlier (Watts), and an African American (Washington) seeking to adopt a child of her own – whose lives become fatefully intertwined by the unbreakable bond between mother and child. Exclusive bonus features include commentary with writer/director Rodrigo Garcia, behind-the-scenes interviews with the cast and deleted scenes.
