REVIEW: P.S. I LOVE YOU
12/19/07
SYNOPSIS:
Holly Kennedy (Hilary Swank)
is beautiful, smart, and married to the love of her life--a
passionate, funny and impetuous Irishman named Gerry (Gerard
Butler). So when Gerry's life is taken by an illness, it
takes the life out of Holly. The only one who can help her
is the person who is no longer there. Nobody knows Holly
better than Gerry. So it's a good thing he planned ahead.
Before he died, Gerry wrote Holly a series of letters that
will guide her, not only through her grief but in
rediscovering herself. The first message arrives on Holly's
30th birthday in the form of a cake and, to her utter shock,
a tape recording from Gerry, who proceeds to order her to
get out and "celebrate herself." In the weeks and months
that follow, more letters from Gerry are delivered in
surprising ways, each sending her on a new adventure and
each signing off in the same way: P.S. I Love You.
With Gerry's words as her guide, Holly embarks on a
touching, exciting and often hilarious journey of
rediscovery in a story about marriage, friendship and how a
love so strong can turn the finality of death into a new
beginning for life. © Warner Bros. All rights reserved
REVIEW: This movie
is a definite tear jerker; it captures the audience and
gives them a yoyo ride of emotions. Every time I thought
something pleasant was about to happen to Holly Kennedy
(Hilary Swank) I was stunned with something sad. On another
note, when I felt something bad was going to happen I was
comforted with a laugh. Holly and Gerry (Gerald Butler) did
an amazing job at playing husband and wife. I could easily
connect with the characters and put myself in their shoes.
It’s amazing how when you truly love somebody you will do
just about anything for the other person. Gerry shows us
just that by sending Holly messages even after his death.
Hilary and Gerald did an outstanding job with their roles.
Kathy Bates pretty much plays the butch mom and played it
well. Denise (Lisa Kudrow) did a fine job however I feel
this part should have been cast differently. I couldn’t get
Phoebe (Lisa Kudrow) from the sitcom Friends out of my mind
during the entire movie. Likewise with Danniel (Harry
Connick Jr.), although he did a decent job of acting I
probably would have selected a different unknown actor.
The story was excellent and very well written. I did not
lose interest in the movie for one second. "P.S. I Love You"
is a must see for the romantic. However, don’t forget to
take your Kleenex with you because you will need them.

The movie was delghtfully,
and wonderfully therapeutic for me
today. It was so real in different ways.
The actors and acting truly moved me.
The scenes in Ireland evoked fond
memories as did the fleur de lis which
the actress found. It was the emblem on
my necklace I received this past
Christmas. The musical score was simply
perfect, I can not wait to own it, as
well as the movie. I have never been
moved to tears by a movie like this one.
This movie I need to see again, and
again. Ii has a life lessons in it that
need to listened to. |

Absolutely great film.
Music, scenery and acting was
incredible. Left me bubbly inside.
Plenty of tears shed in this movie as
well as laughter. Hilary did a great job
as well as Gerard and the rest of the
cast. I was moved by the lessons of life
from this movie, it's a must see. Even
my husband watched it and he is not into
girly movies, but I took him my second
time seeing it ,and he had to admit it
was a very lovely movie. |

Athough I haven't seen
the movie yet I would like to say this
that if a movie could move the love of
my life{Shelley-Ann}like that it must be
quite a movie I know it has a special
signifigance to us because of the Fleur
delis its something really special
because of my Heritage and acouple of
other things thats going on in our lives
right now so I would just like to say
THANKS to the people involved I can't
wait to see it but I vow to only see it
when we are able to see it together as
she

close to New Orleans but through GOD's
help hopefully we will be together soon.

Fabulous...unbelievably
heart wrenching and wonderful. Gerard
Butler and Hilary Swank were amazing. I
saw it a little less than a week ago and
can't stop thinking about it. I even
went out and bought the book and
soundtrack! The story is so touching and
so true for anyone who's ever lost
someone close to them. It inspires you
to rush home and hug your significant
other and thank God that you have them.
Don't waste time over silly stuff and
unimportant stuff. Live while your alive
and love like there is no
tomorrow.......because you really never
know. |
