From the writer of Scream, The Faculty, and producer of TV's Dawson's Creek comes, Teaching Mr. Tingle, the directorial debut of Kevin Williamson. The story revolves around Leigh (Katie Holmes) who needs to be valedictorian to get a scholarship to Harvard. The only class she is worried about is history, taught by Mrs. Tingle (Helen Mirren), since the teacher hates her. When an attempt to get ahead in Mrs. Tingle's class goes awry, mayhem ensues and friendships, loyalties and trust are tested by the teacher's intricate mind-games.

This is Kevin Williamson first time behind the director's chair, so don't expect a good movie.  Actually, expect a bad movie, a very bad movie. You have been warned.

As the end of summer nears, the lack of creativity in movies coming from
Hollywood seems to reach a new record low point. This week's release
"Teaching Mrs.Tingle", movie written and directed by Kevin "I know about
Teenage Angst" Williamson comes to theaters just in time to close this
glorious summer of movie duds. You might know Mr. Willimson from his
franchise movies ("I know what you did last summer" and "Scream") or from
his teenage angst show "Dawson's Creek". Well lets just say that most
of the actors in this movie I assumed were trained in the Van Dame
acting school. In fact only the scenes that are worth mentioning are the one's
were Mrs. Tingle (devilishly played by Helen Mirren) manipulates her captors
to turn on each other. The action scenes are lame. Overall this movie should
be best viewed when it premiers on TV!!!!
