HARRY POTTER AND THE
DEATHLY HALLOWS PART 2
07/14/11
SYNOPSIS: "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2," is the final adventure in the Harry Potter film series. The much-anticipated motion picture event is the second of two full-length parts. In the epic finale, the battle between the good and evil forces of the wizarding world escalates into an all-out war. The stakes have never been higher and no one is safe. But it is Harry Potter who may be called upon to make the ultimate sacrifice as he draws closer to the climactic showdown with Lord Voldemort. It all ends here.

Lord Voldemort: Only I can live... forever.
Similarly this movie series will also live forever as one of the most popular and successful series in cinematic history. Sadly it is now at its end. There isn’t much to say about this movie as far as a review is concerned because it won’t really matter. Even if you are the very slightest of fans of the Harry Potter movies you know you are going to see this one because it is the last one and you are going to want to see how this whole thing concludes. If you haven’t followed the series or you just don’t like it then you know you’re not going to see this one either. It’s actually very simple no matter what I say about the movie which by the way, in case you are interested, was great. My teenage daughter, who is not the biggest of fans, also thought it was great. It is epic and climactic, of course, but the most epic and climactic of all the Potters as you would expect. And as mentioned, it is very sad and touching due to the story itself as well as the fact that this is the last Harry Potter. Although there might be some minimal loose ends or some let downs especially to the Potter aficionados, I believe this movie wraps the bulk of it up nicely. I was worried about how well this was going to conclude the series and I was not disappointed. Once again, keep in mind that I am coming from the point of view of someone who has only seen the movies and not read any of the books. Now that it’s over I have a strong desire to see them all again in order to piece them together.
Harry Potter: Come on Tom let's finish the way we started...
Harry Potter: Together!
It has been a long time that we’ve been watching this battle unfold and materialize. It has been a long time that we’ve watched these three wizards grow up before our very eyes. That in itself is a miracle that in this age the movie makers have been able to keep the cast very much intact. That totally helps with the movies’ credibility. The performances of the cast as a whole were good. There seemed to be a no-holds-barred or basically let it all out attitude this being the last one. The drama was more intense as a result. The only thing the movie lacked or I would have liked better is more involvement from the various characters. A lot of them do appear, but it seems like that’s all they do is just appear and that’s it. As usual, the cinematography is excellent and the special effects seem to get better and better. Similar to the cast staying intact, it is fitting that the director of this last one is the director of the last four films, David Yates. He has done this series justice and I for one am pleased at how he directed this last Harry Potter. I can’t believe I’m actually writing those words, the last Harry Potter. As the poster says, IT ALL ENDS.
