The Reborn — Festival‑Favorite Crime Thriller Releases Official Trailer

Movie Trailers August 17, 2026

For fifteen years, two Chilean brothers ran a dangerous but lucrative underground operation: faking deaths to save lives. Now, one final job threatens to end theirs. Set against the stark, sweeping backdrop of the Andes, THE REBORN arrives as a brutally stylish, festival‑favorite crime thriller blending border‑western aesthetics, Greek‑tragedy intensity, and a chilling moral descent. Following acclaimed runs at the Shanghai and Santiago International Film Festivals, the film makes its exclusive North American premiere on IndiePix Unlimited on September 25, 2026.

Synopsis

Operating in Santiago under the thumb of an organized crime network, brothers Manuel (Pedro Fontaine) and Oscar (Marco Antonio Caponi) have spent fifteen years helping fugitives disappear by faking their deaths. Using a clandestine chemical process, they make clients appear deceased, bury them alive, and then resurrect them hours later across the Argentina–Chile border.

Now retired and working as a rural doctor, Manuel is preparing for fatherhood — but the past refuses to stay buried. One last job pulls him back into a spiral of betrayal, violence, and reckoning, forcing him to confront the life he thought he left behind.

With tension reminiscent of Flatliners and the intrigue of A Perfect Murder, The Reborn features striking cinematography, an immersive score, and standout performances from a cast led by 2026 AMPAS Argentina Best New Actor Pedro Fontaine, Marco Antonio Caponi, Juan Ignacio Cane, and two‑time Goya nominee Óscar de la Fuente.
