Two-time Academy Award winner Sally Field
and Ben Chaplin head a terrific acting ensemble in this
bitterwsweet comedy. Four siblings rush home to say a last
goodbye to their very sick mother. When she hangs on, they
find themselves trapped together-for two weeks. Through
laughter and tears, they come to terms with the tragedies we
all must face, and rediscover the joy we find in each other.
The film chronicles the Bergmans' alternately heartbreaking
and hilarious struggles, intercut with Anita's own
reflections on her life and her family. What happens to a
family when the one person who holds it together can't hold
on anymore?
Written and Directed by Steve Stockman, "Two Weeks" stars
Field, and Chaplin ("The Truth About Cats and Dogs," "Thin
Red Line"), along with Julianne Nicholson ("Law & Order:
Criminal Intent," "Little Black Book," "Kinsey") , Tom
Cavanagh (TVs "Ed" and "Love Monkey"), Glenn Howerton ("Its
Always Sunny in Philadelphia") and Clea Duvall ("The
Grudge," "Identity").

I saw this film in Los Angeles in
December, and was kind of surprised that
Sally Field wasn't nominated for an
Oscar. She's amazing! The film is very
funny, and very moving. Great acting
overall. If you're tired of seeing
nothing but empty action flicks, and
want a movie that's really about
something, see this one (PS: the wife
will LOVE it if she liked "Steel
Magnolias") |
