Independent Film Company has released the official trailer for MOUSE, the upcoming drama directed by Kelly O’Sullivan and Alex Thompson (GHOSTLIGHT), starring Sophie Okonedo and Katherine Mallen Kupferer.
The film will open in theaters in a limited release on November 6 before expanding nationwide on November 13.
Set in 2002, MOUSE follows best friends Minnie (Katherine Mallen Kupferer) and Callie (Chloe Coleman) as they prepare to enter their senior year of high school. Long accustomed to living in the shadow of the charismatic and popular Callie, Minnie finds herself struggling to define her own identity when their friendship is unexpectedly disrupted at the start of summer.
As Minnie searches for connection and purpose, she develops a complicated relationship with Callie’s poised and attentive mother, played by Sophie Okonedo. The bond pulls Minnie further away from her own turbulent home life, forcing her to confront questions of friendship, family, and self-discovery.
Kelly O’Sullivan wrote the screenplay and co-directed the film alongside Alex Thompson. The cast also includes Tara Mallen, Iman Vellani, and David Hyde Pierce.
