By | January 11, 2013

ICARUS FILMS announced today its acquisition of all North American distribution rights to the Sundance Film Festival, World Documentary Competition entry THE MACHINE WHICH MAKES EVERYTHING DISAPPEAR, directed by the young Georgian filmmaker Tinatin Gurchiani.

THE MACHINE WHICH MAKES EVERYTHING DISAPPEAR begins with a casting call. The director is searching for young adults, aged 15-23, in order to make a film about growing up in Georgia, her home country. Young people from across the country, and a variety of backgrounds respond, all with their own reasons for participating. Following the most interesting respondents, director Tinatin Gurchiani weaves a kaleidoscopic tapestry of war and love, wealth and poverty, creating an extraordinarily complex vision of a modern society that still echoes with its Soviet past.

The film will make its North American premiere in the World Cinema Documentary Competition at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival.
