The film follows a journalist’s young daughter who vanishes without explanation during a trip into the desert. Eight years later, she unexpectedly returns home. What begins as a long‑awaited reunion quickly becomes a disturbing ordeal, as the family realizes that something about her reappearance is deeply wrong. The story presents a new interpretation of one of horror’s most recognizable myths, approached through Cronin’s contemporary lens.
