Amazon MGM Studios has released the official teaser trailer for VERITY, the seductive psychological thriller adapted from Colleen Hoover’s New York Times best‑selling novel. Directed by Michael Showalter and written by Nick Antosca, the film brings Hoover’s dark, twisting story to the big screen with a powerhouse cast led by Academy Award® winner Anne Hathaway, Dakota Johnson, and Josh Hartnett.
Synopsis
Adapted from Colleen Hoover’s hit novel, Verity follows renowned author Verity Crawford (Anne Hathaway) and struggling writer Lowen Ashleigh (Dakota Johnson), who accepts a job ghostwriting for Verity at the remote Crawford estate. Once there, Lowen uncovers what appear to be Verity’s disturbing autobiographical notes — a series of chilling confessions that blur the line between truth and manipulation.
As Lowen becomes entangled with Verity’s husband Jeremy (Josh Hartnett), she finds herself unable to separate fiction from reality, attraction from danger, and opportunity from obsession. What begins as a writing assignment spirals into a psychological labyrinth of secrets, seduction, and escalating dread.
