Roadside Attractions and Saban Films have acquired U.S. rights to Crawlers, a terrifying, high‑intensity horror‑thriller from director Angel Gómez Hernández (Don’t Listen, The Boogeyman) and starring Matilda Lutz (Revenge, Magpie, Rings). The film marks the first feature from Badlands, the new genre label launched by Thunder Road and producer Scott Strauss.

A relentless descent into claustrophobic terror, Crawlers traps audiences inside a quarantined apartment complex overrun by a new breed of venomous spiders — a nightmare that escalates with every passing second.

Synopsis

Serena (Matilda Lutz), the overworked and underappreciated manager of the Paradiso Palms apartment complex, discovers a mysterious death on the property. What initially appears to be a viral outbreak quickly mutates into something far more horrifying: a catastrophic infestation of aggressive, fast‑spreading spiders.

As the building is sealed off under emergency quarantine, residents are forced into a desperate fight for survival. With the threat multiplying at an uncontrollable rate, Serena must rely on her intimate knowledge of the building — and confront her deepest fear — if she hopes to keep anyone alive.

About the Production

Written by Jayson Rothwell (Polar, Silent Night), Crawlers is the inaugural feature from Badlands, a new collaboration between Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee’s Thunder Road — the team behind John Wick, Sicario, Monkey Man, and The Town — and longtime studio executive Scott Strauss, whose credits include the Resident Evil and Underworld franchises, Prom Night, The Pope’s Exorcist, and Training Day.
