Movie Trailers August 16, 2026

Netflix has released the official trailer for TEENAGE WASTELAND, a coming‑of‑age investigative documentary directed and written by Jesse Moss and Amanda McBaine. The film will premiere September 4, 2026, with both directors available for interviews during the week of August 24

Set in 1991 in upstate New York, Teenage Wasteland follows a group of teenage misfits who, inspired by their renegade English teacher Fred Isseks, embark on a student film project that unexpectedly uncovers a dangerous environmental conspiracy. As they investigate the contamination threatening their community, the students confront indifferent adults, corrupt local politicians, and a violent criminal organization operating in the shadows.

Banding together, they produce an investigative documentary that sends shockwaves through their small town. Thirty years later, the filmmakers revisit the events that shaped their youth, reflecting on civic courage, the power of storytelling, and the lasting impact of speaking truth to power.
