Movie Trailers June 2, 2026

Outsider Pictures has released the official trailer for GOAT GIRL (La niña de la cabra), the new Spanish‑language drama from SXSW Grand Jury Award winner Ana Asensio, ahead of its upcoming U.S. theatrical premiere.

About the Film

Written and directed by Ana Asensio, Goat Girl follows Elena, an eight‑year‑old girl in 1988 Madrid preparing for her First Communion while grappling with the recent loss of her grandmother. Her world begins to shift when she befriends Serezade, a gypsy girl who is never seen without her goat. Through this unexpected friendship, Elena starts questioning the beliefs and boundaries she has been taught, opening her eyes to a broader, more complicated world.

The film delicately explores the mysterious and often shadowed corners of childhood — the space between innocence and awakening — while touching on themes of classism, racism, religion, emotional honesty, and identity. Asensio blends realism with touches of fantasy and humor, crafting a vivid portrait of a generation’s childhood and the small details that bring a city and era to life.
