Altitude announced that the 10‑time Academy Award®‑winning WEST SIDE STORY (1961) will be released for the first time in 4K on UHD‑Blu‑ray in the UK and Ireland. The new edition will be available on DVD, Blu‑ray, and as a 3‑Disc Limited Collector’s Edition Mediabook beginning 31 August.
The film has been restored from the original 70mm 6‑channel master, with a new 5.1 audio mix designed to present the musical with improved clarity and depth for home viewing. The Limited Collector’s Edition Mediabook includes a 48‑page booklet, song‑specific commentary by Stephen Sondheim, and a range of archival and newly curated bonus features.
