Following an acclaimed festival run, the award‑winning action thriller Son of the Soil is set to arrive on Digital platforms in the UK on July 13 and in the US on July 14, courtesy of Trinity Content Partners. Directed by Chee Keong Cheung and written by Razaaq Adoti, the film blends high‑intensity action with a powerful story of grief, justice, and redemption.
The film follows Zion Ladejo (Adoti), a former Nigerian Special Ops Paratrooper living in self‑imposed exile after a catastrophic mission leaves him haunted and adrift. When news reaches him of his sister’s sudden death, Zion returns home to Lagos—only to find his community ravaged by a brutal drug epidemic and controlled by a violent criminal network.
Fueled by grief and a relentless need for justice, Zion launches a one‑man war against the organization poisoning his hometown. As he descends deeper into the underworld, old instincts reignite, forcing him to confront the ghosts of his past. With the help of former brother‑in‑arms turned street soldier Jagunlabi, Zion rallies an army to take on the powerful forces responsible for destroying countless lives.
Son of the Soil stars Razaaq Adoti, Sunshine Rosman, Taye Arimoro, Patience Ozokwo, Ireti Doyle, Philip Asaya, Emeka Golden, Damilola Ogunsi, and Sharon Rotimi.
