Warner Bros. has announced that Practical Magic, the beloved 1998 fantasy drama starring Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman, will be released Digitally in 4K Ultra HD and on 4K UHD Blu‑ray on August 25, 2026. The newly remastered edition arrives ahead of the theatrical release of the highly anticipated sequel Practical Magic 2, opening September 11, 2026.
The 4K Ultra HD digital release includes new bonus content featuring cast and creative team reflections on the film’s legacy nearly three decades later. Both the digital and physical editions will also include previously released commentary and behind‑the‑scenes features.
Set in a small New England town, the story follows sisters Sally and Gillian Owens, descendants of a long line of witches. For them, falling in love is the most dangerous spell of all — every man they love is doomed to an untimely death. As they struggle to break their family curse, they must confront fate, magic, and the bonds of sisterhood.
Based on the novel by Alice Hoffman, the film is directed by Griffin Dunne and features an ensemble cast including Academy Award winners Sandra Bullock, Nicole Kidman, and Dianne Wiest, along with Stockard Channing, Goran Visnjic, and Aidan Quinn. The film is produced by Denise Di Novi, with a screenplay by Robin Swicord, Akiva Goldsman, and Adam Brooks.
