Amazon MGM Studios and Alliance Home Entertainment have announced the Blu‑ray™ and DVD release of the critically acclaimed family mystery The Sheep Detectives, arriving August 25. The hit film stars Hugh Jackman, Nicholas Braun, Nicholas Galitzine, Molly Gordon, Hong Chau, and Emma Thompson, and has become one of the year’s most beloved theatrical successes.
Set in the English village of Denbrook, The Sheep Detectives follows George (Hugh Jackman), a shepherd who reads detective novels to his flock every night — assuming they can’t possibly understand. But when a mysterious incident disrupts life on the farm, the sheep realize they must become the detectives themselves.
Adapted from the 2005 international bestseller Three Bags Full: A Sheep Detective Story by Leonie Swann, the film brings warmth, humor, and a clever whodunnit twist to the big screen. The novel was translated into more than 30 languages and adapted by Craig Mazin (The Last of Us, Chernobyl).
