A new theatrical trailer has debuted for THE LAST ONE FOR THE ROAD, Francesco Sossai’s dazzling and genre‑blurring sophomore feature — part road movie, part caper, part ode to a vanishing industrial Italy, and part free‑flowing, alcohol‑soaked odyssey.

The film follows Carlobianchi and Doriano, two small‑time Italian crooks whose glory days are long behind them. Since the 2008 financial crisis, they haven’t managed a single successful scam and now face the creeping mediocrity of middle age. When an exiled partner‑in‑crime returns from Argentina with the promise of long‑buried riches, the pair sees one last shot at redemption — if they can stay sober long enough to take it.

As they drift through the Venetian countryside on a slow‑motion, beer‑fueled grand tour, they cross paths with Giulio (Filippo Scotti, The Hand of God), a shy architecture student who reluctantly warms to the pair and indulges their rambling critiques of globalization and the fading color of local life. Each roadside tavern offers the promise of one last drink — unless the next one raises the stakes.
