Viva Pictures has acquired the viral horror sensation Pinocchio Unstrung for a nationwide theatrical release on July 24, 2026. The latest entry in the expanding Twisted Child Universe, the slasher reimagining brings a nightmarish new vision to the classic fable.

Following its world premiere at the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival, Pinocchio Unstrung arrives from director‑writer Rhys Frake‑Waterfield and producer Scott Chambers, the team behind Winnie‑the‑Pooh: Blood and Honey under their Jagged Edge Productions banner.
Set inside an elite London prep school, the film follows a violently unhinged Pinocchio who, influenced by a sinister Cricket (played by horror icon Robert Englund), embarks on a gruesome quest to carve himself into a real boy — one piece at a time. Created by Geppetto (Richard Brake) and driven by obsession, Pinocchio’s rampage turns the familiar tale into a chilling descent into madness.
