Official Trailer Premiere for “I Swear,” the John Davidson Biographical Film

By | March 6, 2026

The biographical drama I Swear, written and directed by Kirk Jones, brings the remarkable true story of Tourette Syndrome advocate John Davidson, MBE, to the big screen this April. The film arrives in theaters April 24.

Set in 1980s Britain, the film follows John Davidson from his Tourette’s diagnosis at age 15 through his turbulent teenage years and early adulthood. With little public understanding of the condition at the time, John faces isolation, misunderstanding, and the struggle to build a “normal” life. His journey takes a turn when a family friend helps him find work and independence, ultimately leading to a BBC documentary that brought national awareness to Tourette Syndrome.

Over the next three decades, John became a leading voice for the Tourette’s community in Scotland, creating support groups and advocating for children and adults living with the condition. His contributions were recognized in 2019 when he was awarded an MBE by the Queen.
