ony Pictures Classics has announced the home‑entertainment rollout for Scarlet, the visually striking, time‑bending animated epic from Academy Award‑nominated filmmaker Mamoru Hosoda. The film arrives on Digital March 17, followed by 4K Ultra HD and Blu‑ray on May 19, 2026.
A Limited Edition 1‑Disc 4K UHD Steelbook will also be available for pre‑order, giving collectors a premium option for Hosoda’s latest cinematic world.
From the director of Mirai, Wolf Children, and The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, Scarlet follows a fierce, sword‑wielding princess on a mission to avenge her father’s death. Gravely wounded after a failed attempt, she awakens in the mysterious Otherworld, where she encounters a young man from modern‑day Earth.
As he helps her heal, Scarlet begins to imagine a future not defined by rage or revenge. But when she comes face‑to‑face with her father’s killer once more, she must confront the ultimate question: Can she break the cycle of hatred, or will vengeance consume her?
