Lionsgate has announced that The Descent: Part 2 will be available on 4K Ultra HD in the U.S. for the very first time as part of a Limited 4K + Blu‑ray + Digital SteelBook edition arriving August 11. Featuring a Dolby Vision presentation, DTS‑HD Master Audio™, and a new collectible SteelBook designed by Matt Ryan Tobin, this release brings the cult horror sequel back into the spotlight with upgraded picture quality and a full suite of legacy bonus features.
Released in 2009, The Descent: Part 2 continues the terrifying story of Sarah Carter, who emerges alone, dazed, and bloodied from the Appalachian cave system where the events of the first film unfolded. When authorities force her to return underground to help a rescue team search for her missing friends, Sarah’s fractured memories begin to resurface — revealing the full horror of what lurks in the depths.
But the rescue team is about to discover something even worse: a new tribe of deformed crawlers, more vicious and feral than those encountered before. What follows is a claustrophobic, relentless descent into darkness, fear, and survival.
