Written and executive produced by Joss Whedon (Buffy, The Avengers), IN YOUR EYES is a timeless boy-meets-girl story, wrapped in a supernatural, Whedonesque world.
In the frozen East Coast winter, Rebecca (Zoe Kazan) is withering away in a life of cocktail parties and lonely nights as the sheltered, soft-spoken wife of a successful doctor. Across the country in sun-drenched, arid New Mexico, charismatic ex-con Dylan (Michael Stahl-David) is struggling to find his footing and a fresh start. When these polar opposites realize they share an inexplicable connection, a unique metaphysical romance begins.
IN YOUR EYES is the second film from Joss Whedon and Kai Cole’s “Independent Micro Studio” Bellwether Pictures, following the critically acclaimed, contemporary Shakespearean adaptation of MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING, which screened at last year’s Tribeca Film Festival.
A high-energy, eclectic soundtrack pulses through the film, featuring established indie darlings like The Lumineers, Iron & Wine, and Santigold, as well as on-the-rise bands like Opus Orange and Wildlife. There’s even an original song penned by Joss Whedon himself.
Directed with confidence and style by Tribeca Film Festival alum Brin Hill and written/executive produced by Joss Whedon, IN YOUR EYES stars Zoe Kazan (Ruby Sparks), Michael Stahl-David (Cloverfield), Nikki Reed (Thirteen, The Twilight Series), Mark Feuerstein (Royal Pains), Jennifer Grey (Dirty Dancing), Steve Howey (Shameless), and Steve Harris (The Practice). Producers are Kai Cole (Much Ado About Nothing) and Michael Roiff (Waitress, Save the Date). Cinematography is by Elisha Christian with Film Editing by Steven Pilgrim. Original music is by Tony Morales.
