Senator Entertainment, a leading German distribution company, announced today that it has entered into a joint venture with Relativity Media, which provides that Senator will distribute all of Relativity’s future films in Germany. Furthermore, Relativity also became a significant shareholder in Senator and together, the two intend on building Senator into one of the largest independent distributors in the German market.
Senator was recently recapitalized by Sapinda Holding, which is a multi-billion dollar global investment group headquartered in Amsterdam, with offices in London, Berlin and five other countries. Senator will distribute such future titles as: Hunter Killer, Nicholas Sparks’ Safe Haven and Afterburn. Sapinda is also looking to provide capital to Relativity for future strategic initiatives.
